If you are looking for a hotel in the Barge area STOP now and book the Alter Hotel!! We had an unexpectedly wonderful 3 night stay there. The staff (especially Carlotta and Julia) were amazingly helpful and friendly. The hotel is beautifully designed with very comfortable and interesting rooms (we tried two!) It is quiet and well situated for visiting the local scenery and wonderful small towns.
