United KingdomAfter a long flight and a long train journey there is nothing better than a good, relaxing hotel which is just what we found ANA Crowne Plaza to be.
The hotel is only 3 or 4 minutes walk from Akita station. Take the west exit and follow the covered walkway straight ahead and down an escalator. High up on the wall of a department store you will see a sign directing you to the main entrance of the hotel. Go up a short slope walk along the side of the store, turn the corner and you are there.
Check in was very welcoming and we were able to get the key to our room with no problem. The room itself on a high floor of the hotel was spacious, clean and comfortable. The wifi worked well, but as far as I could see the TV only had Japanese channels.
We had booked a club level room which gave us access to the lounge which until 1930 served generous canapés wine, beer spirits and a large selection of sake as well as soft drinks. We enjoyed both the food and drink which were top quality and retired to our room early for a much needed sleep. The bed was large and comfortable.
The next morning we had a good breakfast again in the lounge and then checked out ready for the next part of our trip.
An excellent stay and I would certainly recommend a Club Level room if funds allow.
