This property is an oasis just a stone throw away from downtown San Ignacio. I was so taken with all the trees and plants and I love that they have benches to simply sit and enjoy nature. The shower was phenomenal, the bed was comfortable, and the A/C was superb. I liked that there’s was a little coffee maker complete with filter paper, ground coffee and powdered creamer and I made good use of it in the early morning when I needed to work remotely. Speaking of—the WiFi was excellent and I had no issues with any of the conference calls I had during my stay. Lastly, I’m very impressed with the attentiveness of the staff. There was always someone around to ask for help or get a recommendation, without them being helicopter-y. If you need a nature retreat within easy reach of downtown (if you’re into walking) I wholeheartedly recommend this place! It’s especially perfect if you’re backpacking but want a nice, calm place to stay. The bus drops you off at the bottom of the hill and it’s a 5 minute walk.

The location, high up in the Mayo Mountains, is unique, with endless picturesque trails that take you to beautiful waterfalls and clear blue pools where you can swim to cool off, all the time surrounded by a huge variety of colourful birds. The accommodation couldn’t be better, well furnished with comfortable beds and good hot showers. The food is superb, the coffee perfect, and the staff friendly and helpful, with a commendable approach to conservation and nature.

There is a fully equipped private bathroom with shower and free toiletries. Absolutely beautiful place to stay. We got upgraded to be able to use the kitchenette which was so helpful. Pool was so clean and refreshing. We got into a jam with our SUV in mountain pine ridge park and the staff at dream valley saved our lives, they were so helpful. Really great experience, only wished we could have had longer to just relax and enjoy the property.
