This is now my go-to hotel for whenever business or leisure travel takes me through this part of the world. Fabulously friendly and attentive staff, a super cafe (popular with locals as well as guests: you're going to need to book if you want to have Sunday brunch there...), and very comfy beds with the most comfortable pillows I've ever slept on in a Swiss or German hotel. HIGHLY recommended and worth the price.

The modern 4-star Novotel Basel City is located 800 metres from the train station and a 10-minute walk from the Kunstmuseum and it offers free public WiFi and a restaurant. Excellent stay at Novotel which was very clean and large rooms for the family which were great. Parking under the building was safe and secure. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The free Basel card also meant we could catch the tram into the city centre for free and have dinner and the staff were super helpful to point us in the right direction.

Newly built in 2014, The Passage in Basel is a centrally located design hotel featuring a sauna, a fitness centre, free WiFi access and air-conditioned rooms. Received a surprise free room upgrade to a loft, the room was amazing, with a large terrace. Bathroom was modern and spacious, with a separate shower and bathtub. Would definitely return here next time in Basel.
