Offering a terrace and views of the garden, Masaya Casas Viejas is set 30 minutes away from Minca in the Magdalena Region by 4x4 or motorcycle, and 12 mi from Santa Marta. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar with a terrace. I was worried we would be too remote from the hub in Minca to really enjoy the area, especially after experiencing the road up to the hostel, but I was wrong. Everything we needed was right there. We were more than happy to hike to all the things we wanted to see but you could just as easily take a moto or 4x4. The food was great. The people were even better. We really didn’t want to leave.

It is decorated tastefully, with a lot of natural material, beautiful forest view, and sea breeze. Have in mind if you are coming from Europe or elsewhere the 110V plugs, the place has just enough infrastructure to feel comfortable, but be mindful it’s in nature. Setting is beautiful with river and the ocean, and staff was really helpful about where to eat, helping us arrange the transport from the airport, and we were pretty demanding guests. Also there have 3 adorable kitties in the house.
