We liked it so much that we returned and stayed again! The bungalows are tucked away private so you feel as if you are completely alone, until you go to the restaurant for meals. Shout out to Juan Carlo for the amazing dinner service each evening at the Acacia restaurant! Not only did he remember our names but he had memorized our allergies, our food preferences and our drink preferences from day one! Eat at the restaurant, it’s the same price as in town but the quality is far far superior! The jacuzzi on the patios looking into the forests watching for sloths (yes there are sloths!!! Ekkk!) was pretty incredible! Overall it’s an amazing property and they do everything possible to ensure you are having a five star rainforest experience! You will not regret staying here.

Offering an outdoor pool and a restaurant, Tifakara Boutique Hotel is located just outside Arenal Volcano National Park in Fortuna where you can enjoy stunning volcanic views. Superb breakfast, additions to ”main course” a lot add ons with fruit, croisants, cookies, juice etc. Nice rooms very close to the djungle, and both birds and frogs to be seen in their natural habitat. Free nightwalk and spotting frogs, toads and if you are lucky also snake. Everbody is superfriendly and helpful. Pool area nice with hot tubs as well.

This is an amazing place! The chalet is beautiful, clean and spacious. We had a fabilous view of the Arenal vulcano from our window and terrace. Chalets are surrounded by a beautiful garden where different wild and farm animals roam around. There was also a sloth living on a tree there. The little farm they have is extremely well maintained and you can try milking the cow and collecting eggs every morning. Animals seem very well cared for. The hot springs are gorgeous, the place makes you feel like you are in paradise. We highly recommend this place!

Lost Iguana Resort and Spa offers an outdoor pool, a gym and lush gardens with a maze. Each room has views of the Arenal Volcano, located just a 25-minute drive away. We liked the location of the hotel. It is in the middle of the forest but still close to the main road and attractions. The pool bar was our favorite.

Set amid a tropical forest and offering stunning mountain views, Xandari Resort features a spa village, yoga lessons, outdoor pools and hot tubs and 4 km of natural trails. The hotel is amazing. I love the views from the room, the warm pool and the walks thew the trails to the hotel waterfall. The breakfast is very natural, there is a buffet and u can also order local dishes. I stay in Xandari every time i go to Costa Rica. The massage service in the Spa is very healing.

Located 14 km from Arenal Volcano National Park, Lomas del Volcan offers lush gardens, an outdoor pool and a hot tub. Each air-conditioned cabin has free Wi-Fi and flat-screen cable TV. When we arrived I saw one of the most breath taking views ever. The volcano is so close and makes a crazy impression. I could just stare at it. I wish we could stay longer. Such a peaceful and calm environment, breath taking view on the volcano, well maintained gardens, fantastic pool. So much wildlife- we could hear hundreds of birds all the time. I recommend visiting nearby restaurants as there are so many just a few minutes away. The only thing I didn’t like was a dinner at the hotel restaurant- it was expensive and really not too tasty. Very „Americanized” menu. I would rather have something local and simple. Breakfasts were wonderful though.

Chato Arenal Lodge has a nice breakfast with fresh fruits and an amazing view from the restaurant. The room was super clean and the beds were very comfortable, I loved that the hotel is at a walking distance from La Fortuna waterfalls and a five minutes drive from the downtown where you can have access to restaurants, cafes and the hot springs. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, Esteban was very helpful and shared with me some beautiful location that I can visit. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be staying at Chato Arenal on my next visit to Costa Rica.
