Set 1.5 km from the town of Koli, Kolin Lotus Cottages are located close to Lake Pielinen. These self-catering, semi-detached cottages have a children’s playground and BBQ facilities. We returned there for the second winter in a row and found it to be the same lovely place as last year. The cottage is clean, comfy and its location so beautiful. We hope we can manage to come back next year too.

Situated next to Lake Pyhäselkä in North Karelia, Holiday Linnunlahti offer self-catering apartments with a private terrace, sauna and loft. Joensuu city centre is 1 km away. This was our second time in Linnunlahti and definitely not the last. Very well decorated cottages, squeaky clean with everything one could wish for (even a MokkaMaker coffee machine 😀). Right next to the skiing tracks and a lake with a lovely beach. Thanks for everything!

This property is on a family farm, 12 km outside Savonlinna and 10 minutes’ walk from Lake Pellosjärvi. It offers a private beach, a lakeside sauna and a summer restaurant. The hosts are considerate of customer language challenges with Finnish, and were helpful with local travel logistics as the area hosts a yearly opera festival each July. Room was exceptionally clean and included a bidet hose, little known in the Americas but a very refreshing hygiene feature. Exceptional amenities included a shared kitchen space with common games for casual interaction, row boats and fishing tackle.

Dating back to the 1800s, this charming manor is found in the Finnish Lake District, 7 km from Mikkeli. It offers an award-winning restaurant and elegant rooms with garden views. Such an enchanting place ! Everything so special, super nice breakfast with natural ingredients. I think the best service I have ever gotten.

This hotel is right by the River Pielisjoki and 200 metres from Joensuu Station. It has a restaurant, pub and a nightclub. Free Wi-Fi is included in all rooms at Original Sokos Hotel Kimmel Joensuu. Excellent location, comfortable and many facilities provided.
