Hotelli Toivola is perfectly located close to forest with hiking/ skiing paths. It takes 25 min to the centrum of Kemi. The room was tidy and spacious, the stuff was very friendly. They stored our bags on new year night, which we spent in Rovaniemi, and put it to our room, which was the same (bigger) room! That was very nice of them. Also they provide many recommendations. The breakfast had many options, and was tasty. There is kitchen and unlimited coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the hotel, which is very practical in winter. We also enjoyed the sauna.

Situated right by the shores of Lake Inari, Wilderness Hotel Inari & Igloos provides accommodation and activities. This was out of the ordinary. An excellent place to stay. Very friendly and helpful staff, efficiently organised and no hassles at reception. A high standard hotel with a relaxed feeling about it. The food in the restaurant was excellent. The beds good, the room spacious, comfortable and with all one could think of in terms of amenities.

Apukka Resort is in Apukka, just 15 minutes drive from Rovaniemi. The property features multiple saunas, including an ice sauna, igloo sauna and movable saunas. We stayed in Kammi Igloo and it was spacious for a family of 4. The resort was huge with bonfire places, play area for kids, lake, etc. We also appreciate the free winter gear and boots during our stay. The staff are friendly and attentive. It is also a short drive to Santa Claus Village and Rovaniemi airport. It was truly a memorable trip for us.

To make it even better, we also got to enjoy the New Year fireworks, which added a festive touch to our unforgettable trip. The staff were incredibly helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed. Our room was cozy and warm, perfect for relaxing after a night of aurora hunting. The restaurant was fantastic, serving delicious food that made our stay even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a comfortable, scenic stay with a great chance to see the Northern Lights and celebrate the New Year in a magical setting, this is the place to be. Highly recommend!

Great view , stunning with the snow covers all the trees .. we could see the aurora during our stay

We really enjoyed our stay here and honestly, the lodge was our favorite stay during our week long trip to Finland. Firstly, Mikko, the owner is a fantastic host. Always there to answer our questions and really appreciated his help/comments regarding road conditions before we got there. Second, if you are looking for a place that provides peace and tranquility, the lodge is it. We really enjoyed snowshoeing on the trail across the way, it made me so happy! The breakfast options were great as well - lots to choose from. My friend is vegetarian and she enjoyed the spread as well. Kiitos very much Mikko!

The food was gourmet and impeccable. The staff very helpful and friendly. The hotel offers daily activities. The hotel itself was very well appointed and every detail was well thought out. The beds were a bit soft for my taste, but that was the case for all the hotels we stayed in Norway and Finland.
