If you like different , you will love this. A wonderful old Rivermill , owned by a fabulous couple, in a French countryside setting only minutes from Omaha Beach. Ducks, chickens,sheep and an Alpaca even! The place is old and creaky, with a narrow staircase leading upstairs to a fantastic room to spend a few days in. We spent a couple of evenings chatting with Bernard and Maryanne ( hope I got spelling right) around the fire sharing tales of our travels with them. If you want five star accommodation don’t book this, but if you want a Five star experience then this is for you.

Our room over looked a small fairly quiet square. Saturday there was a very large market that is a must see. It appeared to be a recently renovated building. There is a bar run by the hotel with inside seats and outside seats on the square. Great location.

My kids loved the heated pool and we loved the views. Breakfast was filling (different breads/croissants, jams, various fruit, juice, coffee/tea) and was delivered to the room each morning. The communal kitchen was great for cooking and we enjoyed eating dinners at our patio table. Everything was spotless. Communication with the host was very easy too. We would love to return. Highly recommend!

This a beautifully- renovated chateau set in quiet countryside. We had an enormous bedroom with fabulous views of the gardens. There are lots of facilities there but not were all in use, probably because it is the beginning of the season. We were happy just to walk around the grounds. Our breakfast was wonderful, with 5 types of home-made cakes and 3 kinds of bread, we were spoilt for choice! The price was good value for such a gorgeous place and we would stay there again.
