I spent only one night there and was not able to evaluate the breakfast, but all other things were ok. The location is bout ten minutes from the central streets (Market etc). When I came, they allowed me to choose one of the two rooms. The first was on the ground floor and had a view on high mountains, but I chose the second, with a balcony and without such a view. I left the hotel very early in the morning - and there were no problems with that (even though the person responsible for that had to wake up). The territory of the hotel is flowery, clean and green and has several chairs where one can have a rest.

Vikram and Indrani were perfect hosts. Five stars for all the amenities including food, accommodation, arranging any tours/driver for our trips in the area, massage at their facility, or just a relaxing chill time by the water stream going through their property, everything was superb. They have a very friendly staff, we just felt like we are part of their family they have built in this place. This was our first night here after landing in Leh and probably because of heat and some exertion in the city, I had severe headache and AMS symptoms that night. Having that assurance from Vikram that this will pass and there is hospital nearby where they could take me if needed was comforting. I felt I was taken care of and was in safe hands. Vikram even brought the SPO2 monitor and the oxygen cylinder that really helped. So this place has the means and guidance to take care of you if altitude becomes a problem for anyone. Next morning I was 100% back to normal and rest of the trip at Nimmu house and in Ladakh was nothing less than spectacular. Cannot thank the hosts enough for their amazing hospitality.

The amenities are what you expect in a remote cottage with no electrical lines. It's the same for every cottage in Lukung. The generators run only from 7pm to 10:30 pm and you should come to Pangong tso for the views and adventure and stay away if you are seeking comfort. Also, you will be dying for oxygen if the generators run all night or if you have heaters in your room. I'd rather stay alive than just be comfortable. In terms of the cottage and host, Thinley is one of the nicest people I have met on my trip. He made Kadha for my cousin when he had a cold and fed us chai at all times of the day. He made food 3 times a day and it was pretty decent imo. The rooms are basic with a comfortable and warm bed but the prices are more than competitive compared to other cottages and it's totally worth it. I would stay in Thinley's cottage next time I come to Pangong and decide to stay in Lukung.
