Spent 4 nights here, using it as a base to explore Yakushima. We were really torn between sightseeing and enjoying the facilities. The staff are very attentive and helpful - dealt with a flat tyre on the hire car as we were leaving in less than 10 minutes. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable, the food very good and facilities are excellent. Very happy to use the free guest laundry to wash dirty walking clothes - it does rain a bit on the island.

We selected the breakfast to be included and it exceeded our expectations. It made our experience!

Every dining experience was unique, featuring fine dining-quality dishes made with local Kagoshima seasonal ingredients. The room we stayed in offered beautiful ocean views, allowing us to enjoy a relaxing and tranquil moment at Ibusuki.

Opened in 2012, Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel Kagoshima is just a 2-minute walk from JR Kagoshima-Chuo Train Station and features a French restaurant and massage services. Very nice view over the city, right in front of the Kagoshima Chuo Shinkansen station, overly respectful staff and very clean room. The bed was really soft and the pillows are the best. Toilet & Bathroom are separated and wide enough. Overall great quality/price.

The concierge Geoffroy provided the best service ever at the introduction of perhaps an older, but nevertheless elegant establishment. The view from my room and restaurant of Sakurajima were absolutely excellent. Also, the convenience store on the ground floor had excellent souvenirs and best sake range I saw in Japan. The staff here at the convenience shore were extraordinary friendly and took photos and videos with me. The hotel has a free shuttle bus to Kagoshima-chou station and a tram leaves three blocks from the port to Sakurajima. I will be back I hope in the near future. Though I never found Blofeld.

She helped us making a tour reservation on Yakushima island which unfortunately was full. We left our baggage with Ms. Wada at the front desk before our check-in time. When we came back in the evening, our baggage were already in our room. - Breakfast was excellent. We were asked to choose types of breakfast during the check-in. Our choices were Japanese style. When we presented our coupon in the morning, our food arrived shortly. It was delicious and portion was perfect. Staffs at the restaurant were nice. - Location is perfect - within the walking distance to the ferry port to Yakushima. After having our breakfast, we had plenty of time walking to the port to board the 7.45 am ferry. We also walked to Mokkemon sushi for dinner.

I wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel again for another trip to Kagoshima. The view's are also very nice, especially on a higher floor. Great for families with toddlers too, since the beds are very spacious.
