All services — at a top notch. Great choice for a few days relax from Tokyo hype.

The rooms were clean, modern and minimalistic but very cozy and comfortable. The raised platform was helpful to organise luggage and warm clothes. Room was very clean. The free drinks in the lounge were a very nice touch as there’s not much to do in takayama in the evening. Restaurants close early so one has to have early dinner. So liked handing out in the lounge with drinks after a long day. Did not have the breakfast so can’t comment but the place is so well located that there are so many good options around. don’t understand why western people would order breakfast expecting western breakfast and then complain they didn’t like it

Ryokan Asunaro: A Traditional Japanese Inn in Takayama. Nestled just a 6-minute walk from Takayama Station and the Nohi Bus Center, Ryokan Asunaro offers an authentic Japanese inn experience. We had a wonderful stay at Ryokan Asunaro The beautiful surroundings and authentic Japanese experience will stay with us forever. The welcoming feeling at all times, the beautifully appointed rooms with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The dining experience both at the Kaiseki dinner and the Japanese breakfast each morning was incredible. We have never experienced anything like it before.

The property is very quiet and relaxing, staff is very detailed and accommodating, everyone is so helpful. Yukata were provided for us to use which is a plus experience . The property is just 5 mins from the station, old town is a few blocks away. We ordered the Japanese breakfast which was a great choice! The room is convenient , just the AC is not working as well.

Syukaen Yunohanazen là chỗ nghỉ 4 sao tọa lạc ở Atami, cách Bãi biển Atami Sun 14 phút đi bộ và Ga Hakone-Yumoto 27 km. There's a lot of food for everyone, even for kids. And the food is very delicious. Room is comfortable, shuttle is convenient.

We're very happy that we selected Hidaya as our first ever ryokan experience. The staff was lovely, instantly made us feel at home and helped us to get the most of our short visit to Takayama (recommendations, taxi and restaurants booking, yukata rental and much, much more). The Japanese style breakfast was delicious and varied from day to day. The place is very charming and well maintained. The small hot bath was a very nice addition that we've used multiple times. It's located quite far from any attractions so a car/taxi is your best bet but it can be reached on foot within 10min from a nearby bus stop and around 30min from the historic center. Highly recommended! Takayama was definitely a highlight of our trip and Hidaya was big part of it. Thank you for your hospitality!

Full disclosure - this place is much fancier than the places we typically stay. It's expensive - but it was worth every yen. The facilities are luxurious. The food is an absolute marvel - creative, beautifully presented, and delicious. The private onsen on our balcony overlooking the ocean is the perfect way to relax. And the staff were all so incredibly kind to us and our children (especially Mayu). Our few days here were amongst the very best we had in Japan. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing, memorable splurge.
