Located at the iconic Fredriksten Fortress in Halden, this hotel is surrounded by gardens. Guests can enjoy free WiFi and free parking. The location, close to the fort AND the city center. The view over the city and the Fort, the staff, the room, the food, simply amazing! I never give out a 10/10, but this hotel deserved it. Next time I go Halden, I stay at Fredriksten Hotell again.

Breakfast was great! Lots of variety to choose from. The location was recommended by family who live in Moss and they were right!

I stayed at this hotel when I was attending Fredrikstad Animation Festival. To my pleasant surprise it was almost right next to the place! They also allowed me to store my luggage before check in, very convenient as I arrived to town a few hours before check-in. Nice variety for breakfast. Nice room and comfortable bed. Very nice bathrooms. Good of the hotel to think of the environment and not switching out towels/sheets everyday if its not needed.

The hotel lies on the Hankø island with a 3-minute ferry ride from the mainland and 16 km from Frederikstad city. The staff was so friendly, doing what they could to offer the best stay. The breakfast was delicious, and the highlight is certainly the hiking area, with the island, forest, and beach. Loved it.
