Just 5 minutes’ walk from Turangi town centre, Creel Lodge is a 4.5-star Qualmark rated motel offering self-contained suites with a private patio and BBQ facilities. Nice location and beautiful rooms. Only stayed for one night but enjoyed the walk nearby and used their kitchen facilities to cook a nice steak dinner.

I loved the story of the motel that was provided in the folder. It is obvious to see that this motel is a labor of love for this family. Everything about the room was fresh, modern and very clean. We arrived late and really appreciated the welcome reception we received.

Hosts, Stu and Barbara - very accommodating, knowledgeable and helpful. Building - a lovely, updated heritage building. Common areas - balcony, garden, lounge (books, piano, television, pool table) and kitchen/dining area. Breakfasts - Large, nutritious and filling, a great way to start the day! The kitchen/dining area was very conducive to meeting and chatting with other guests. Location - Easy access to heritage sites, heritage walks and the town centre.

The room is a very good size, with an extremely comfortable bed. This is a rural retreat, a long way from amenities and restaurants, and a farm stay, with chickens running around in the garden outside. So if you are looking for a very relaxing retreat, to unwind and soak up the views, and are happy to cook for yourself a bit (double halogen hob, microwave, full size fridge freezer) with friendly hosts then I can warmly recommend this lovely place. If you want shopping and restaurants on your doorstep, or are phobic of birds, then this wouldn't be the place for you. Oh, I nearly forgot to mention the hot tub! And the amazing expanse of the stars at night! I loved it!

Pukekohe Motel is located in Pukekohe East, 1.4 km from the city centre. Free WiFi access is available. We got upgraded and the room was like brand new. Very quiet.
