Situated at the base of the wild Tsitsikamma Mountains, The Fernery overlooks an impressive 30-metre waterfall in the Sanddrift River gorge. Just perfect! Just out in the bush everything was clean and comfortable. The most friendly staff and a good kitchen. Great hiking possibilities as well to enjoy nature. They are building a new restaurant and will turn parts of the old restaurant/bar into rooms. Just hope they keep some parts of the current restaurant for a drink since it has the most beautiful views!

The rooms have a modernised twist but still keep the history in the rooms! We met Jane, Peter and Cathleen and they are warm and welcoming, they really made our stay even better!! The rest of the staff is also so friendly! You can tell that this property is full of peace! Stay here for a night, and it will quickly become your favourite place in Graaff-Reinet! So grateful that this was our first stop! We will definitely be back!

The story behind it and the hostess Patricia really touched us. For us, it felt like visiting family and eating at home. All the details were taken care of to perfection and we were given interesting recommendations for activities in the area. The garden is a little oasis. The whole house has a soothing atmosphere. Together with the great bedding and peaceful surroundings, it made for the best night's sleep we had during our trip. This B&B has really won a place in our hearts.

Our experience at this lodge was hands down wonderful. The room was spacious&clean and had an amazing view to the river. The nature around was beautiful. The whole experience felt really private. We booked a guided tour and a game drive which was also very private. The ranger who ran the activities was simply wonderful. He shared his deep knowledge in flora & fauna, we really enjoyed our time with him. We saw a variety of animals, not only on the guided tours but as well as just walking around property. The value for money is just insanely good. +The food was delicious! Best wishes to Dean & Fay who really cared to make our time at the lodge memorable. Would love to come back. Thank you!

The staff was wonderful. From the check-in experience to the restaurant, everyone was really helpful. The food (breakfast and dinner) was great. We loved the game drive on the property.
