Wow! If you like to feel the real Berber life in the dune desert, this is the place for you! Younes is the perfect host! He picked us next to the gas station, and took us to the amazing camp in the middle of the dunes. We had the perfect camel ride into the sunset and had a great and super tasty dinner with beautiful dishes and service. We ended this special evening around the fire with live authentic music played by Younes and his friends, sorrounded with the desert tranquility and endless skies with bilions of stars. Our sleeping tent was spacious, with comfortable matresses, bed seets and towels. Everythig was so clean and tidy! For us it was the highlight of our Morroco trip, and we should have stayed longer!

We loved this camp and highly recommend it. Muhammad and Ali, the brothers running this camp, have created a clean and comfortable Sahara experience for a great value right at the edge of the dunes. It wasn't a color-coordinated luxury "Arabian" fantasy--thank goodness. We weren't looking for that. If you are, you could pay MUCH more at another camp. But if you are interested in a peaceful, comfortable, Berber family-run camp with delicious food, a very good bed with your own toilet/shower, a low-key, thoroughly enjoyable evening of music at the campfire, and access to the most remote erg in Morocco where you can take breathtaking photos of stunning sand and sky as far as the eye can see all for a very reasonable price, then this is your camp. After the lodging reservation you make here on Booking.com, you'll pay cash, a la carte, for everything else, in either euros or Moroccan dirham. This wasn't a problem--just something to know. (If you don't have enough cash on hand, there is an ATM in M'Hamid.) Our total cash need was as follows: Round trip from M'Hamid to camp for two people (2 hrs each way in Toyota 4x4) = €90. Two dinners at €12 each for two people = €48. Camel ride accompanied by camel driver for 3 hours at €25 each for two people = €50. (We were also offered a 1-hour ride for €15 each; we chose the 3-hour, which gave us time to get to the largest dune on Erg Chegaga. Worth it!) The lovely breakfast both mornings was included in the lodging cost. They didn't charge for bottled water, bread & fruit picnic lunch for our camel ride, nor the tea they served us both days. Total cash needed was €188 (plus more for tip). Note there is one lodging option with attached private toilet/shower; scroll to the end of the lodging options to see it, for just a bit more money. The others are stand-alone lodgings with a short walk to the bathhouse, which would be totally fine also.

A million reasons to stay and definitely book a tour! 1) Fantastic staff. We were sick and they helped us in every way possible, from driving more slowly to offering a special tea to help our upset stomachs to changing meals last minute 2) Easy to contact, they always responded very quickly, cordially, and in detail. We felt we were in safe hands, which is essential when you're basically trusting someone with your life in an unfamiliar, dangerous environment (the desert) 3) Spacious, comfortable, clean, nicely decorated rooms in Mhamid and Erg Chigaga 4) Staff really cares about sharing their culture. They want you to feel at home and are happy to answer even the most banal questions 5) The tour really was the trip of a lifetime. I'm not exaggerating. We learned so much and lived--really lived--so much. From trekking with/on camels to traveling by jeep to climbing dunes to trying desert arugula to watching sand bread being made to relaxing to soaking up silence and learning to cook Moroccan desert-style... I will never forget these experiences and the people who welcomed us with open arms. 6) Fair prices. Our 3-day tour cost 360€ total all included for two people. If you need a recommendation for a particular tour, we went on the 3-day Majesty of the Sahara tour, which I think struck a wonderful balance between showing us the natural, wild, nomad lifestyle (mobile camp) and seeing a wide variety of desert landscapes via jeep (fixed camp). The first day there was no one else around for miles; on the second, we took in a very impressive view of the dunes

I spent an unforgettable night. We left our car in Tagounit and took a 4x4 car, deep into the sand dunes, an exciting journey that offered views of ostriches, camels, and gazelles. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff, who made us feel right at home. Special thanks to our driver, Essahel, who made the trip smooth and enjoyable. The camp is perfectly situated in the middle of big stunning sand dunes, far from any light pollution, offering a sense of wonderful isolation and tranquility. The tents were very clean, beautiful, and authentically decorated, providing a comfortable night’s sleep. Dinner was a highlight, with a delicious Tagine, Soupe and fruits. That we thoroughly enjoyed. After supper, we were treated to great traditional music played right in front of us, making the evening even more special. The communal area was a great place to relax and chat with other guests, creating an enjoyable and sociable atmosphere. Not to forget, we had a wonderful camel ride at sunset to the big sand dune, which was an incredible experience. Star gazing under the unpolluted night sky was magical, and waking up to the sunrise over the dunes was breathtaking. On our way back, we even saw nomads, adding to the authenticity of the journey. This camp offers a genuine desert experience that I highly recommend. Thank you to everyone at the camp for making this an incredible adventure. I am looking forward to visiting you very soon♥️
