Likewise the rest of the staff - Yamuna, Achini, Rohana and Dammika - are all fantastic and will take very good care of you. For birders, Wanakaset deserves special praise: I recorded nearly 50 beautiful species including a number of Sri Lankan endemics during my stay! The butterfly diversity, mammals, flora, and wild mushrooms are also impressive. At night fall asleep to the frog symphony and the spectacle of a forest canopy sparkling with fireflies, and wake up to an enchanting dawn chorus of bird song. Later, stroll down the path to take a refreshing swim in the river, then enjoy a cup of hand-made local tea picked an processed right on site. It's a place you won't want to leave.

The place is unique and when you arrive, you find yourself away from everything in the middle of the jungle, it’s absolutely stunning. There is wildlife, beautiful birds dancing and a natural pool that is incredible. I am a solo mum traveler with my toddler and it was beautiful to see our sons play together. She even watched my boy so I could get enjoy the natural pool. Mona is a cool and lovely woman and I loved how her and aunty are running thia place. I would love to come back! Dinner was one of the best I had in Sri Lanka! Absolutely loved this place!

The unit has 1 bed. It was very good accomodation. We lived next to the river in the jungles in big rooms. We looked at the stars and heared the sound of the river from our balcony in the night. We had very delicious lunch and dinner. It was very friendly owner. He told us a lot of interesting information and organised for us amazing water adventures.
