The boat trip and the night walk they offer for free were very informative snd interesting. The food was amazing and served in s gorgeous atmosphere under the palm trees, surrounded by fires an torches. The 12 hour safari they arranged for us was perfectly organized, with breakfast and lunch they prepared for us. Thanks to all the staff for this wonderful experience while staying with you.

The staff were fantastic and always ready to help answer any questions including “what bird is that” x 20. The staff were patient and knowledgeable and they made my experience amazing!!

There is a private entrance at the luxury tent for the convenience of those who stay. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with an outdoor fireplace. This is one of the best locations I’ve visited so far. Situated in a very remote area where there’s limited access to outer world. You have to take a basic nature trail to reach the destination which my family enjoyed much. once you entered the premises it’s like you stepped into another country. Very calm and peaceful environment so we need to adopt to the destination. I recommend this place to all nature lovers who look for places where you can blend with nature. Limited electricity so prepare yourself with backups. (power banks, flashlights, ect)

The rooms at the hotel come with air conditioning, a seating area, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a safety deposit box and a private bathroom with a bidet, free toiletries and a hairdryer. The units will provide guests with a desk and a kettle. We loved the room and the bathroom. The staff were all very nice. Breakfast and dinner were tasty. Had a great stay! Plus the safari was a really good experience. We just did the 3 hour tour and could come back after the safari for breakfast and pool time before we checked out.

It has nice reception area, two zones of camps and houses with swimming pools for each, big children playground, nice restaurant and close location to the national park. We stayed in deluxe camp which was not new but clean and comfortable! Every morning they come to clean and refill tea/coffee/water savings. They have arranged safari tour for us, the guide was very nice and the price was very reasonable. We liked everything.

International and traditional Sri Lankan dishes are served by the chef on demand, at the main restaurant. Athgira River Camping offers a great outdoor dining experience as well as a barbecue dinner and cooking demonstrations. Real wild cocktails and a nice wine selection are available as well. The property is gorgeous and very natural. There are no eye-sores, everything is very blended with nature. The two swimming pools were really lovely and the restaurant buffet dinners were delicious. The best part was the general manager who went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. He engaged with our kids and made sure they stayed busy with basketball, volleyball, arranged a village walk across the river, and made special arrangements on our safari to celebrate my son's birthday. He was like a traditional hotel general manager who treats everybody like his personal guest. It's a really special place and definitely a great base for visiting both Udawalawe and Yala parks.

- Pre-dinner drinks around the campfire and wine during dinner This ecolodge was enjoyable for my children, husband and myself. The tents were roomy and had flushing toilets and warm showers. The dinners were elegant on white tablecloth under the stars. The safari guide and driver did an excellent job pointing out elephant herds, birds and crocodiles at this park. I recommend this lodge.
