Makulu Safari Camping is a great choice to stay. Near the Udawalawe Park and in a gorgeous location next to a little river. The staff here are outstanding. Samitha looked after me with such care and grace, always making sure I was comfortable and that I had everything I needed. He took me on a lovely boat ride on the little river and pointed out birds and trees. Also a fabulous night walk. He has an incredible knowledge of Ayurvedic medicine and it is fascinating. He knows what plants and trees cure various ailments. One of the most lovely things at this place is the abundance of fireflies. You can see them in the dark so it's worth turning off your lights, sitting back and taking in the breathtaking beauty of these creatures as they dance around. I opted to do the 12 hour Safari which I think was the best choice. The first couple of hours is very busy with a lot of jeeps so having that extra time to see the elephants without other Jeeps around was really special. The driver Patou was fabulous and spotted so many birds and animals before I had even real realized they were there. This was all arranged in advance by Makulu.

Very easy going and friendly. Very passionate about all the animals and nature :) The accommodation was very cool, close to town so great for a little exploration. The food was very good and the rooms were very clean with all the amenities. The wifi was very good. Highly recommended.

Your totally absorbed by the nature! You can totally relax with the sounds of nature all around you. The staff were fantastic and always ready to help answer any questions including “what bird is that” x 20. The staff were patient and knowledgeable and they made my experience amazing!!

Apresentando vista da montanha em Belihul Oya, Ahaspokuna by Eco Team apresenta acomodações, um jardim e um terraço. The surroundings of the camp are just stunning. The gardeners Indika, Upalai and Kumara do a very good job. The area is very quiet and full of birdlife an other animals. Our bushwalks with Nuwan and Dimuth were great, although we could‘nt find any elephants. Kumara led us to a beautiful waterfall where we had e refreshing bath. The service and food cooked by Upalai and Rajitha was excellent. Thanks a lot to all staff - we will come back one day 👋🏼🙏🏻

Kottawatta River Bank Resort encontra-se em Udawalawe, a 17 km de Parque Nacional de Udawalawe, e apresenta acomodações com uma piscina exterior, estacionamento privado gratuito, um jardim e um salão... Chegámos e fomos surpreendidos com um hotel impactante. Cada "casa" é um quarto o que acaba por dar bastante privacidade. A casa de banho na rua pode parecer estranha, mas acaba por ser muito agradável tomar banho na rua. Um excelente qualidade / preço. Acabámos por reservar o safari através do hotel e correu tudo bem.

Offering river views, this fan-cooled tent has a private entrance, seating area and extra large bed with spring mattress. It includes a hot water shower, towel and shoe racks. Rooms, the pool and the area is clean. No problem with that. No rats as it was mentioned in google reviews. Staff is very kind, friendly and helpful. Room is spacious with some flies which didn't bother at all. Big area which is lightened and you can have a romantic walk. You have a very close connection to nature here. You can it on the spot - good restaurant with pretty big menu, tasty food and veeeery reasonable prices! Perfect stay, we'll definitely come back! Greetings from Latvia!

Athgira River Camp is located at the door step of Udawalawe National Park with views of Rakwana River. It’s very close to Udawalawe reservoir and to the Elephant Orphanage. The property is gorgeous and very natural. There are no eye-sores, everything is very blended with nature. The two swimming pools were really lovely and the restaurant buffet dinners were delicious. The best part was the general manager who went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. He engaged with our kids and made sure they stayed busy with basketball, volleyball, arranged a village walk across the river, and made special arrangements on our safari to celebrate my son's birthday. He was like a traditional hotel general manager who treats everybody like his personal guest. It's a really special place and definitely a great base for visiting both Udawalawe and Yala parks.

Everything is rteally nice, the rock pools are amazing and the junglke is all around you. The cabins are very new and comfortable. I thought the loud music was a bit irritating, but maybe that was just an exeption!
