If you are coming to Udawalawe for a safari then this is the place to stay. Located very close to the National Park entrance this camp had us feeling like we were one with nature. Our room tent/cabin was ready on arrival. It is not a hotel so you should know going in that this is a camping adventure. Beds were comfy and cam with very good mosquito nets. The bathroom was clean and the water pressure was fine. There is no A/C but you do get a floor fan and the room also has plenty of outlets for charging. You get your own private deck in front of your tent with chairs and a beautiful view of the river. I would suggest allowing them to prepare all of your meals. They were all delicious and came at a fair price considering there is nowhere else to eat within a mile or two. The camp prepares and takes car of everything for you, meals, free river tour, and free night walk after dinner. They also will book your safari for you. Once you arrive, you do nothing. It was absolutely amazing.

Located close to the safari park. The safari they organized was absolutely amazing. On the day we arrived, we spent the entire evening at the river, the bird sounds were amazing. More than worth the money paid. This place had the best wifi facilities of all the places we stayed in Sri Lanka. Highly recommended.

This resort is an absolute gem and a must stay if you are visiting Udawalawe National Park. For an affordable price you get to stay at a luxurious glamping style resort. The rooms were clean, beautifully designed and a delight. The food was amazing from the options available to the flavour. As well the service from the staff was some of the best I’ve ever received. The big highlight from this experience was the safari we booked with the resort. If you book the safari ask for Lasantha. He is the best driver and safari tour guide ever. He really went out of his way to create the best experience for us. He is top notch!!!

Offering river views, this fan-cooled tent has a private entrance, seating area and extra large bed with spring mattress. It includes a hot water shower, towel and shoe racks. This is a great resort with friendly professional staff. My accommodation was better than I had anticipated. I had a basic tent with a fan and I was comfortable enough. They do offer tents with AC as well.

Athgira River Camp is located at the door step of Udawalawe National Park with views of Rakwana River. It’s very close to Udawalawe reservoir and to the Elephant Orphanage. If you are going on safari and want to truly experience the real spirit of it, I highly recommend staying at this camp. The campsite offers modern tents with their own open-air bathrooms, giving you comfort while staying close to nature. The area features two swimming pools, a bar, a lovely banana garden, and a dining area. Breakfast and dinner are varied and delicious. The staff is extremely kind, helpful, and welcoming — we were greeted with a refreshing glass of juice upon arrival. Before the early morning safari, tea and coffee were already prepared for us, which was a very nice touch. A wonderful experience overall — highly recommended!

Everything is rteally nice, the rock pools are amazing and the junglke is all around you. The cabins are very new and comfortable. I thought the loud music was a bit irritating, but maybe that was just an exeption!
