Udawalawe National Park: Pesquise glamping sites

Makulu Safari Camping is a great choice to stay. Near the Udawalawe Park and in a gorgeous location next to a little river. The staff here are outstanding. Samitha looked after me with such care and grace, always making sure I was comfortable and that I had everything I needed. He took me on a lovely boat ride on the little river and pointed out birds and trees. Also a fabulous night walk. He has an incredible knowledge of Ayurvedic medicine and it is fascinating. He knows what plants and trees cure various ailments. One of the most lovely things at this place is the abundance of fireflies. You can see them in the dark so it's worth turning off your lights, sitting back and taking in the breathtaking beauty of these creatures as they dance around. I opted to do the 12 hour Safari which I think was the best choice. The first couple of hours is very busy with a lot of jeeps so having that extra time to see the elephants without other Jeeps around was really special. The driver Patou was fabulous and spotted so many birds and animals before I had even real realized they were there. This was all arranged in advance by Makulu.

The tent features air conditioning, an electric kettle, a terrace with river views as well as a private bathroom boasting a shower. The unit has 2 beds. Best safari tour guide! Very easy going and friendly. Very passionate about all the animals and nature :) The accommodation was very cool, close to town so great for a little exploration. The food was very good and the rooms were very clean with all the amenities. The wifi was very good. Highly recommended.

The staff were fantastic and always ready to help answer any questions including “what bird is that” x 20. The staff were patient and knowledgeable and they made my experience amazing!!

Kottawatta River Bank Resort encontra-se em Udawalawe, a 17 km de Parque Nacional de Udawalawe, e apresenta acomodações com uma piscina exterior, estacionamento privado gratuito, um jardim e um salão... This property is absolutely amazing. The huts are luxury. Very comfortable bed, we slept so well. All facilities there that we needed. Outside shower which was interesting & enjoyable in this environment (even in the rain!). The toilet / sink area was covered & down steps in a small outer area. Very quaint. Tea & coffee making facilities in the room & given extra as needed. Bottles & water & toilet paper given each day. Fridge great. The staff were incredibly helpful & friendly. The food was delicious. We had three different types of breakfast. First day served at our table, huge platter of amazing food. The second day we took a packed breakfast on safari, lots of snacks there. The third day it was buffet which was also delicious. Freshly cooked different eggs on top of all of other food. We had half board & evening meals were delicious. Highly recommend hot calamari. We also had lunch one day. The club sandwich was full of so many delicious ingredients. The pool was lovely & we used it a lot. We had our own safaris booked, but I know the property will book these. Overall it was such a brilliant experience & would absolutely recommend. They also took a credit card for payment with no extra charge. Excellent. Would definitely return.

Athgira River Camp is located at the door step of Udawalawe National Park with views of Rakwana River. It’s very close to Udawalawe reservoir and to the Elephant Orphanage. The property is gorgeous and very natural. There are no eye-sores, everything is very blended with nature. The two swimming pools were really lovely and the restaurant buffet dinners were delicious. The best part was the general manager who went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. He engaged with our kids and made sure they stayed busy with basketball, volleyball, arranged a village walk across the river, and made special arrangements on our safari to celebrate my son's birthday. He was like a traditional hotel general manager who treats everybody like his personal guest. It's a really special place and definitely a great base for visiting both Udawalawe and Yala parks.

This unique tent is set on the border of the National Park and comes with a private bathroom. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. In particular, our guide Solomons made the safaris and nature walk so much fun and he was so knowledgeable. We appreciated the upgraded tent!

This ecolodge was enjoyable for my children, husband and myself. The tents were roomy and had flushing toilets and warm showers. The dinners were elegant on white tablecloth under the stars. The safari guide and driver did an excellent job pointing out elephant herds, birds and crocodiles at this park. I recommend this lodge.
