Staying at Shivapuri Heights Cottage in Kathmandu was pretty cool. It’s tucked away near Shivapuri National Park, so it's super peaceful but still not too far from the city. The staff are super friendly and make you feel at home right from the start. The rooms are nice and cozy, with some local decor that gives them a more personal touch. The view is definitely the best part. Waking up to see the Kathmandu Valley and the mountains in the distance is something else. They've got this nice garden where you can chill with your morning coffee or just take a walk and relax. The food there was great, too. It’s a mix of local dishes and some international stuff, all made with fresh ingredients. Eating there feels like having a meal with family, but with an awesome view. If you’re into hiking or just want to explore the area, the cottage is in a great spot. The staff can point you in the right direction for some cool walks in the national park. Overall, Shivapuri Heights Cottage is a great place if you’re looking for a laid-back spot with nice views and good vibes. It’s like staying at a friend’s place who happens to have an amazing house in the mountains.

This hotel is perfectly placed on top of a hill overlooking the Balthali Valley with,on a clear day amazing views of the Himalayas! The staff and family,who ran it, were absolutely brilliant! The room was delightful and the food was the best we have had so far travelling in India and Nepal. Great authentic Nepalese cuisine! We were there for Tihar and the family asked to join them for the celebrations, which was very special indeed! They also arranged our trip to Namobuddha! Excellent hotel, lovely family and staff! Just book it!
