Shearers quarters from 1900 given modern update but without losing any of the character. Crisp linen on really comfortable beds in absolute quiet. The drive there along a gravel road give the best views of Mt Cook that you will see. Kitchen modern and stocked like home Lovely meeting Alana and hearing about life on the farm and bringing up a family.. Wonderful.. Not to be missed.

It was a real privilege to be able to spend two nights at this fantastic location. Our hut was very comfortable and the nearby shared kitchen and bathroom hut was well equipped. Our host Alana was very welcoming and provided lots of useful information. We spent a lovely day at the station doing the nearby suggested walks and were lucky enough to watch the early morning clouds lift and get a view later on of Mount Cook. The clear skies on our second night afforded us a great view of the Milky Way. By the way, the gravel road up to the station is by no means difficult to negotiate and the end result is most definitely worth it.

Lou and Dion were lovely hosts, the Tiny House was very comfortable, modern and super clean. View from the terrace was great. Perfect for relaxing and decompressing away from the crowds at Lake Tekapo!

Our stay at Mackenzie pass retreat was amazing. wWe always wanted to do a tiny home stay and this was just perfect. Beautiful location, easy to find , well maintained and close to other places like Lake Tekapo. We will definitely revisit sometime again.
