The beds were big and sooooo comfy! Just walk out of the tent and sit on a sand dune and watch the sunset / sunrise (we did both). Loay looked after us and he was fantastic, making sure we had everything we needed and he was just great to chat to - full of local knowledge. And he was so helpful meeting us and deflating our tyres ready for desert driving. The food was lovely at the main tent, and the camp fire after dinner was a lovely touch. My brother did the dune bashing, sand boarding and we both did the quad biking / ATV tour - I absolutely loved this and again, Yasser was just such a perfect guide, taking us to some fun spots, giving us lots of freedom but being right at hand if we got stuck. He also took some videos and photos of us which was awesome to have. This overnight desert trip was the highlight of Oman for me. I just wish I’d booked more than one night so I could have stayed and soaked up the peace and quiet for another night. Thanks to all at Layali camp - you are all amazing and I shall definitely be back!

Featuring free toiletries, this tent includes a private bathroom with a bath, a shower and a bidet. Staying overnight in the desert was quite an experience. Before entering the desert, I received clear instructions to have the tires of my 4*4 partially deflated at a recommended shop. Worked seamlessly. The journey through the desert to the camp is quite self explanatory, and with a proper car it is easy (even for a novice desert driver like me). The tent was marvellous. Spacious, enough for two persons, and the view is brilliant. The open air bath room tops it off. I joined the "desert bashing" experience, to watch the sunset from the dunes. Quite exciting to experience like this. Made some wonderful picture. The dinner was buffet style and I regard it as value for money. The breakfast in the main building was good to get the day started, with plenty of choice of warm and cold dishes. Good service, and attentive staff.

This place is far enough away from everything else, making it incredibly private—there's no one else around. You're truly in the desert. Also, taking an open-air shower with the moon is so cool 😄. The stuff is incredibly hospitable and they will be with you every single time whenever you need them. Mr Salim and his brother Yasir specifically are gentlemen who will always smile ☺️. The people who operate & execute this experience are actually bedouins. Truly wonderful people!!! Special mention to the amazing food that was served. Homely cooked meals met with amazing level of hospitality. I had the best Mishkak here at Moon Light Luxury Camp.

This tent's special feature is the fireplace. This tent features a shared bathroom, a dining area, a barbecue as well as a terrace. The unit offers 3 beds. The camp and the rooms are really comfy. Food is delicious. We enjoyed the sunset on the dunes with an Omani coffee and it was a perfect moment. Little drive on top of the dunes is also a very very good memory. Saeed and the team will make you feel home.

Look no further than Desert Stars for a lovely great value desert trip. It is a comfortable small camp with only 10 tents and really welcoming hosts. Each tent has its own bathroom. There is a nice dining tent with buffet dinner included and a substantial breakfast with eggs and beans stew. We sat around the fire in the evening after dinner and watched the stars. I went on a sunset camel ride which was magical, and had a fantastic half-day safari into the dunes with Ahmed, who is a highly skilled driver and great guide. I saw baby camels, foxes and lizards and ended with a bedu lunch. Communication was smooth with the host by WhatsApp in advance, I arranged a transfer as I had a small car which was also smooth. Highly recommend!
