The property is in a beautiful location, isolated but not too hard to get to from the main road. Beautiful sea views in a tranquil area. I loved my stay here. There are trails to walk on the forest near the property and curious monkeys would show up in the morning to look at our chalet. Food in the restaurant was really good and I’ve also used the spa, which was amazing after a long flight. Staff were fantastic, so friendly and attentive. Wish I had time to stay longer and hope to come back one day. Book without thinking twice.

These tented suites feature a private wooden deck and an en suite bathroom with an indoor and outdoor shower. Family run safari camp with hands on owners who love conservation and take great pride in the excellence of their guides. The guides were very knowledgeable and a special shout out to Abram who is wise beyond his years. We saw great wildlife up close and personal whilst still feeling totally safe. We did both a driven safari and a walking guided safari - both were excellent and memorable. The lodge was very special and Mare, a hand reared antelope, hangs out near the lodge, which is delightful.

Hartenbos Private Game Lodge is a privately-owned escape set in the malaria-free region of Hartenbos, Mossel Bay situated on the Garden Route. Very good communication from host, beautiful setting. Upgraded to a villa free of charge due to an issue with the tent we originally booked.

The executive tented suites are spacious with a separate large lounge area. Each unit is elegantly decorated in colonial style with 4-poster beds and mosquito nets. The resort was absolutely stunning — everything from the atmosphere to the details was top-notch. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the place felt very classy and well-maintained. Our room was beautiful with a lovely view, and the overall ambiance was simply unforgettable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a special getaway. Although the golf cart service wasn't originally designated for guest transportation, the staff kindly made an exception for my mother due to the distance of her room. They provided her with a golf cart ride to ensure her comfort, and I truly appreciate this thoughtful gesture. It meant a lot to us and showed how caring and considerate the staff are.

From the moment we arrived, it felt like time slowed down. Surrounded by misty forests, sweeping mountain views, and absolute quiet. The cabin itself is a perfect blend of modern luxury and natural warmth. Thoughtfully designed, intimate, and effortlessly stylish, every detail felt intentional from the cozy interiors to the large windows that invite the outdoors in.

This tent features a hot tub. Guests will find a stovetop, a refrigerator, kitchenware and a tea and coffee maker in the fully equipped kitchen. The tent also comes with a barbecue. We loved our stay, it’s private enough that you can really relax. It was clean and comfortable and would definitely come back. My only suggestion is to make sure ice trays are full before new guests check in - but it did not take away from our stay.
