Private bathroom as part of the tent. The staff is very friendly and you can easily connect with other people during game drive or at the camp fire. Game drives were fantastic! We have seen all the big 5 and our guides Karabo and Floyd are very knowledgeable. We also really enjoyed the food. The star is the braai (bbq) which offers options for meat lovers and vegetarians. I was surprised how good the oxtail was. The starter soups are also amazing. Vegetarian options were also available on request. Potential allergies were requested beforehand. For breakfast my favourite was the omelette, but other options are provided as well. Besides all of this you can enjoy the pool surrounded by birds between your game drives and in the night time, the sounds of the bush (yes we heard hyenas while falling asleep, but no need to worry, all is safe as a fence separates you from the wild animals!). It was magical. The tents are luxurious and beautifully designed. So peaceful, surrounded by nature and next to a stream. I only wish I didn’t stay for one night, and had a few days here to fully experience.

Although it's a tent, it has all the hotel facilities inside, and the service is also very high standard. The three meals are also very good. I even ran into an antelope on the less than 100 meter road to dinner one day. Of course, if it's just these hardware, this Lodge won't leave a very prominent impression. Safari's tour guide will do everything possible to help you find animals. They share information about animal presence and will not rush back due to a 3-hour time limit. Before coming to Kruger, we had seen some animals in Chobe and on our first day here, we collected big five, which we were quite satisfied with. But the next morning Safari collected big five at once, and the luckiest thing was to see a group of five lions, who were located on the border of their private territory. I sincerely recommend the highly cost-effective Umkumbe bush lodge, and I believe I will always remember the beautiful memories here.

Everything was beyond my expectation and made my trip magical. The staff and drivers are great, they are very friendly and warm and make you feel like at home. The location is awesome. They are a private reserve, but there is no fence, so animals from other reserve can roam here, and you might get a chance to see them. Also, they can go off-road which makes the games so much more interesting. We saw everything except the leopard. The pool at the main area is a huge attraction. The elephants regularly visited the pool to drink water when we were staying, and we got a chance to see them very close. The tents are very comfortable with heating mattress (helpful for colder nights).
