Absolutely worth it, the full immersion experience with that luxury comfort is incomparable. We had a great night stay here, had quite a few encounters with the wildlife but felt completely safe and taken care of throughout.

Guests will have a special experience as the tent offers a pool with a view. This place is simply amazing. The tents are super nice and clean provided with mosquito nets and air conditioning. Private bathroom as part of the tent. The staff is very friendly and you can easily connect with other people during game drive or at the camp fire. Game drives were fantastic! We have seen all the big 5 and our guides Karabo and Floyd are very knowledgeable. We also really enjoyed the food. The star is the braai (bbq) which offers options for meat lovers and vegetarians. I was surprised how good the oxtail was. The starter soups are also amazing. Vegetarian options were also available on request. Potential allergies were requested beforehand. For breakfast my favourite was the omelette, but other options are provided as well. Besides all of this you can enjoy the pool surrounded by birds between your game drives and in the night time, the sounds of the bush (yes we heard hyenas while falling asleep, but no need to worry, all is safe as a fence separates you from the wild animals!). The staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful. As there are only a few tents, they get to know your name and preferences and it feels like a home away from home. The accommodation is super clean, comfortable and exactly what you need for your visit. The common area had a wonderful pool and bar, where you can watch the wildlife pass by as you relax and unwind. The game drives start early in the morning, and it can be cold, but you are provided with warm fleece blankets as well as ponchos for when it rains. Both our guides (Pieter and Capps ) are very knowledgeable and good fun - they really look after us and engaged in conversation while on drives sharing their passion for the area. The coffee and drink stops were a highlight as well. We cannot rate this place highly enough and hope to return sometime in the future, l Thank you to everyone at Umkumbe for making this such a memorable experience and making us feel like more than just guests. Situated in Manyeleti Game Reserve, Buffelshoek Tented Camp offers a garden and barbecue. Sabi Sand Game Reserve is 34 km away. Free private parking is available on site. This was the most magical trip and we highly recommend Buffelshoek Tented Camp! Dudley and Lynn are so amazing in welcoming guests and making the stay absolutely amazing. The guides for the game drives are fabulous! Both Beckson and Elvis were so committed to making sure we saw all that we wanted to, even if it meant driving across the reserve! We saw the big 5 and so much more! We had shared that we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and they helped make it such an incredibly special day for us. On that evening we also had an elephant visit the camp! Wow!! This was definitely a bucket list trip for us and it far surpassed what we dreamed it was going to be!

The location is amazing and conveniently located with access to Kruger Park. Very quiet and peaceful. In the morning, many wildlife will come for feeding and breakfast. We have seen zebras, kudu's, warthogs...just to name a few. The host are incredibly friendly and will go out of their way to help out in any way they can. As we had early mornings and could not attend the breakfast at the lodge, the host actually prepared breakfast for us to take with us in a fancy basket. Everything was inside and much more. The sandwiches were delicious and we are extremely grateful for everything. If you can, attend the hosts dinners, the dishes are made with love and the deliciousness and presentation speaks for itself. The BBQ for the dinners are amazing, it is hard not to have a second or even a third serving. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The intricate decoration on the property and in the rooms will take you back in time. I will surely return again as I had a really good time and would highly recommend this lodge to anyone who seeks to escape to nature and have some of the best culinary delights as we had while we were there.
