Applegarth was a great place to begin our Lake District walk. The historical home was gorgeous and well appointed in every aspect. We enjoyed the comfortable beds and linens, location was ideal and central. Hosts and staff friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic at breakfast and for one of our dinners. Highly recommend.

Lovely room, food was great. The manager was very friendly and gave great recommendations for places to eat and where to hike.

The hotel is in 15 acres of grounds, with lawns up to the shores of Lake Ullswater. The Inn On The Lake offers stylish en suite rooms with freeview TV, free WiFi and tea/coffee facilities.

Hotel setting and Butterfly Suite was absolutely beautiful - felt like pure luxury and so many lovely little touches to make our visit special. Breakfast delicious and brought to our room.
