The Lake Hotel has its charm and nostalgia being situated in Killarney National Park overlooking Muckross Lake. The Lake Hotel was able to move our check-in date forward one day for a two nights stay without charge. We requested to be seated for breakfast by the window to admire the beautiful lake views. We had clothes laundry service with same day turnaround time. Live music entertainment was played in the bar lounge on both nights. On our day of arrival, our room was not ready as we checked in much earlier than scheduled time. We sat by the bar for drinks and were greeted by Niall Huggard, General Manager and Co-Proprietor of the Lake Hotel. How's that for hotel service?

This place was exceptional. We stayed here for 3 nights and were given a huge room facing the lake. The room had a sofa and two armchairs. The huge bathroom had bath and shower and two basins. The restaurant was outstanding both for breakfast daily, and for the evening meal which we enjoyed twice after leisurely pre dinner drinks served on the lawn. The welcome by proprietors Paul and Annette was wonderful, and other staff - especially David and Jack in the bar area and restaurant were outstanding- friendly, providing useful tips on regional activities and local distilleries etc.

    Very good hotel. Great views over the Killarney Lakes and MacGillicuddy Reeks. Entertainment in the bar was very good. The leisure was very good - 20m pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Lovely grounds with a 9 hole golf course. Choice of bar food or restaurant where table d'hote menu was set at 45 euro pp for three courses and coffee. Overall very satisfactory.

    Very spacious, especially for 2 people. We were pleasantly surpised to find a washing machine and dryer. That was a big bonus. Wonderfully quiet. Beautiful location on the lake and some nice walking trails around. 9 hole golf course on property with spectacular views. Easy drive to a few main attractions in Killarney and groceries. The live music at the bar was some of the best we heard during our vacation. We didn't need much but our few interactions with staff were very pleasant and helpful.

    What a wonderful hotel and resort. We really enjoyed the restaurants for both dinner and breakfasts, and you couldn't get a more central location to visit and immerse yourself in the local area. The big plus was the golf course. To top off, the staff were tops and could not have beenore helpful. Highly recommend 👌

    - Rooms are beautifully designed. The wall was in a rich dark blue color, the bed has many throw pillows, the bed linens were of luxurious fabrics. - Resort was very big and had a lot to offer. - Golf club and lake right outside the premisses, great for taking walks. - Pub with stunning lake view and delicious food - breakfast, also with stunning lake view, in the restaurant above the pub. Great breakfast with a separate menu besides the buffet which was included. - great gym with a lot to offer (also with Sauna and swimming pool)
