Our DR contact was very nice and even offered to take us to the store when we arrived since we had no car. The beach is a 10 minute walk.

The location was great. It is a 15 min walk to cultural centre of Puerto Plata and a 10 min drive to the cable car station. The apartment had a lovely balcony with a great view over the city and ocean. Juan and his wife both met us and gave us good advice about sightseeing, restaurants and other local information. They were very friendly and helpful and Juan spoke excellent English. The apartment was well equipped and it was good to have a secure parking space in front of to the apartment.

The hosts, Wildry and Juan, are the best. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Wildry got in touch with me right after I reserved the place and remained in touch until we completed our stay. She welcomed us with open hands when we arrived and provided us with a big water can and a welcome basket with fruits and treats. What a nice gesture!! She also provided us great travel suggestions, weather info, and arranged rides to get to various sights, which made us feel very safe. Juan gave us a ride to the San Felipe fort, even after a long workday, which was greatly appreciated. THANKS to Wildry and Juan, Puerto Plata now has a special place in our hearts.
