In beautiful Lakeland surroundings overlooking an idyllic brook, Glencree is situated between the villages of Bowness and Windermere. The views from the breakfast room are so good it was once listed in The Times Top 10 Most Scenic Restaurants. An excellent location near to the lake and town centre. The hotel has a lovely garden, is scrupulously clean and extremely comfortable. Pleasant and helpful staff.

Our stay was wonderful. Thank you Brett and your team for booking our dinner at your restaurant - it was the best sticky toffee pudding we have ever eaten! We had a very comfortable and easy stay here. The bed was comfortable and the views were stunning over the farmland. Breakfast was exceptional too. Thank you!

Just 1 mile from Lake Windermere this beautiful Victorian house is set in a peaceful location between Windermere and Bowness. It offers vintage-style, luxury accommodation including Egyptian cotton linens, flat-screen TVs with DVD players, as well as free Wi-Fi. Love the staff, the room (Jungle), the breakfast! It was a wonderfully warm and comfortable room and bed, with a welcoming bath. Breakfast was in the room - great selection of hot food, toast, juices, tea and French press coffee.

Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Cumberland House features accommodation with a garden and free WiFi. This holiday home provides free private parking and private check-in and check-out. The property is non-smoking and is situated 18 km from Buttermere. The location was great. Right in the middle of town, was a great base. The whole House presented excellent very new and fresh. A large residence with plenty of room. We stayed as a family of five , but I could see it bringing comfortable for more people. The touches of family friendly games were adored by my children. A full size Washing Maxhine with a separate dryer is a great addition. Combo washer/dryers are ok but seem to take a lot longer. We had an issue with transport and ended up arriving quite late. Which I am now disappointed I did not get the full experience. NOTE: We arrived almost 7 hours after our scheduled check in. The host was exceptional in accommodating our late arrival. I cannot praise Gillian enough.
