Wifi was very strong and reliable. Doors are a bit thin, but really, the home is beautiful and I liked the self-serve breakfast idea as well.

The owner Jim went out of his was to make us welcome and comfortable. There was glitch in our plans and Jim went out of his way to get it fixed fot us. It was raining and we got wet and cold-he brought us a heater.that warmed us up. He could not have been more helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend this place. 😀

On the West bank of the River Shannon, Shannonside House is set within large, private gardens. Guests can enjoy home cooking and free parking, and Athlone's centre is a 5-minute walk away. Very friendly couple. We arrived pretty late but were greeted with a smile. No problems to arrange breakfast for the next morning. Room was clean and big enough for the 3 of us. Location was fine. Got recommendation for town visits.
