This hotel was beautiful and the views of the ocean and mountain landscape were spectacular. The staff was so kind and accommodating. The room and facilities were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was quick, and delicious and the drinks at the bar were well-made. I can not say enough nice things about this hotel. One of my favorite stays and Amila-san and Ryo-san were exceptional hosts.

The public onsen was also good. Dinner in a private room for our party was delicious. The town is very convenient to the mountains and the rest of the Unzen part of the national park.

Spacious table-seating in the dining room, all tables having a view of the garden (really a park-like setting) and a menu that deserves an international rating at the highest levels, and that applies to both dinner (the landscape outside the glass wall is softly illuminated) and breakfast that offers Western coffee selections and the best of Japanese tea. We booked two nights and we were delightfully surprised to find that both the dinner and breakfast menus were varied. The wait staff and chefs paced the meal to our habits, and as English-speaking guests we never were challenged in communications.

At Unzen Fukudaya, guests can enjoy public indoor/outdoor hot-spring baths and relaxing massages. Free wired internet is provided in all rooms, while the lobby provides free Wi-Fi. Spacious room with two bathrooms. Amazing Onsen experience and Kaiseki meals. Helpful staff.

Hotel Karakonosato 唐比の里 nằm ở Isahaya, cách Bảo tàng lịch sử Nagasaki 27 km và Ga Nagasaki 28 km. Kind of an odd place, looks like it was super luxurious a few decades ago, but it's holding its undeniable charm of its kind. It's a remote place with a rare bus service that needs 20 minutes walking to the bus stop. Staff though is among the most friendly and helpful I have ever come across all over the world. Breakfast delivered every morning at your doorstep at the time you requested the previous evening. Dinner is better than you'd expect. Highly recommend!
