The onsen facilities are great for couples who wish to enjoy the facilities together.

Quiet, serene and restful after a busy 3-weeks of touring. The view of the bay and surrounding forest was calming and beautiful. In the morning the birdsong was lively and delightful. The meals were outstanding! The best experience of our trip ( and we had many excellent meals). The presentation was lovely and the staff was attentive and helpful. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Reopened after renovation in 2022, Auberge Hidanomori is situated in quiet hills, a 10-minute shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station. We absolutely loved the location, the facilities, our room, the bath, and the breakfast was the best we had in our entire trip in Japan.
