We stayed here only for a night before driving into Kruger the next day, but it was such a good evening. When we arrived we immediately jumped into the refreshing pool and had a chat and a beer with the other people who stayed at the lodge. Then the owners of the lodge prepared an amazing braai for us and we ate together with everyone who stayed there, which was so cozy! Highly recommend if you are looking for a familial vibe and cozy hangout with other travellers.

The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. Muunga Bush Lodge is in a very unique location in Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate. I could sit by the pool and watch birds fly by or, nyala and warthogs wonder by. There are nice walking trails that take you to waterholes with hides for viewing animals. I enjoyed delicious breakfasts and dinners my entire stay. The Lodge and outside areas are beautifully decorated. There are a number of local magazines, bird and animals books available for reading. I definitely recommend Muunga if you want to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport is 46 km from the property, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service. Beds were comfortable but I am used to a very firm mattress. So I suppose I would find most others on the soft side. The location close to the little town and shopping centres of Hazyview which has first class shops like a Woolworths Food where you can buy excellent provisions for a braai or whatever you are planning. Although Hazyview has expanded a lot over the past 30 year since Thulamela was established, this small intimate little B&B with only 6 cabins retains its character and tranquility. Penny, the owner and host is perfect as are the staff, Julia and the lady who brought us our delicious breakfast. Not a cooked breakfast but delicious.

Have done a lot of traveling, but this property stands out. It’s the first time I remember feeling sad leaving a place behind, normally excited to get to the next destination. Juliette greeted us at the door and gave a tour, an explanation of local sights and recommendations, then left us to it. ALL of the amenities are top-shelf, from the pillows and sheets to the decor to the kitchen pots and utensils. Each wing of the house (yes, wings!) was immaculately clean, lightly scented, and tastefully decorated. The outside fire had been pre-prepared with a pyramid of wood, the pool was spotless, and there was fresh milk and water in the fridge and 3 bags of ice in the freezer. I could go on and on. It was a standard of professionalism, attention to detail, and dedication that all other places I stay on the future will be compared to. This may sound like a paid review or a family member associated with the property skewing the rating…but we are just a family from Switzerland that were thoroughly impressed by the value and joy Wild Heart brought us.
