There was nothing we didn’t like. Comfortable beds, beautifully decorated room, amazing tropical garden, delicious food in the restaurant, the well organised and executed overnight tour into the jungle (yes, we were lucky to see orangutans in the wild) But it is the people working at the Orangutan discovery villa that made our stay unforgettable - highly hospitable, accommodating, genuine in every way. If we are ever to go back to Bukit Lawang it will be the this place.

The location is a perfect base for jungle trekking but the best thing is the incredible staff and the amazing food. I’m genuinely sad to leave and it feels like I’m leaving my home. Everyone works so hard to make it a fabulous experience. Our stay here was amazing! The room is spacious, bed is comfortable, bathroom also nice and everything is clean. Also the room has a big balcony with incredible view. The staff was also great, we arranged everything we needed through them and it was not a problem. We also booked a one day jungle trek with them and it was excellent. Our guide Dani and his brother were good guides and also very nice people.

This place has a wonderful view of the rice fields. It is very quite and a few km away from the main area so on the streets to reach the hotel you get to see how local people really live. The staff is very friendly and pro active they organized the trekking (we got to see two huge orangutan!!!) for us and all the transfers we needed. They speak English very well and they bring you with the bike wherever you want. The bungalow is lovely and clean. I would return for sure. Don’t miss it!

This is great place to stay. Aca, the owner, has a cool mission to save the jungle. Yanta, the manager, shares that mission and is a real nature-guy. He is also an excellent host. Edi was our jungle-guide and is a remarkable person. The whole staff is looking after the guests in a very caring way. We miss them already :-)

We were welcomed with a juice and a chat with the owner and the guide. Room was very clean. Very well located. We did a trek in the jungle with the hotel. The 2 guides, Dedek and Nasseb (Papa Royal) were great. They know there way in the jungle, they are kind and helpful and funny! We saw a lot of monkeys, orang-outans birds and varans,and we spent the afternoon and the night by the river where they fed us delicious food! The cook on the camp is very talented. We recommend this hotel and the jungle trek.

Highly recommend, rooms are super confortable, quiet neighborhood and food is delicious. We did the 2 days 1 night jungle trek with them and everything was perfect!! Thanks so much
