Jibu is a great host, helpful straight from the very begining of the booking. The canoe trip recommended by him was lovely, canoe fits into the smaller canals so you can observe the village life. And lunch (included in the price) was one of the best meals I had during my stay in Kerala. Overall, I had a great time, mainly thanks to Jibu and his friendy personality. I definitely recommend going on the canoe tour he offers to organise, it's a much more authentic experience than going on a houseboat, and much cheaper too. I also did a houseboat and the canoe tour was far superior. Far cheaper at rs.1000 (including food). Canoe can fit down the smaller canals so you can quietly and respectfully observe the village life. Our group of 3 boats were the only people in the water.
