We found this accomodation on booking.com and gave it a try. It was a good decision, we enjoyed our stay here. The host was very welcoming, being there at our disposal but not disturbing us. Our room was simple and big and comfortable with an attached bathroom, hot water was available. I liked that all information is given in a message after booking, with clear rules, covering everything. We know what to expect and the host is very straightforward with us. This is the perfect stay if you are looking for time in nature and the backwaters. Room is comfortable, clean, and with AC - so you can relax perfectly in the room. The balcony is great too and offers direct view on the littler river. The host Lizza is kind and fun, always there to help, Plan trips, cook food for you. The whole house is so beautiful, so you will enjoy having breakfast/dinner on the long table in the Main hall. This place seems suitable for anyone: alone-traveller, backpackers, couples, familys with kids. They have a garden to hang out too! And best part: its only 10sec walk to the starting point of your boat trip (Lizza will arrange)! Then you can discover lakes, big rivers, small rivers and village life in the backwaters. Ask Lizza for a TukTuk (Autoriksha) drive through the little streets through this area, so you will see more small rivers with plants, more village life, rice plantages and local life :) This is the place to be! This was by far the most beautiful accomodation we had during our India trip and it was made even more special by Allwyn and Jency. Not to mention their five sweet dogs. This was probably our best stay in India. We arrived to a very clean room with AC. The location was perfect for relaxing on the beach (1 min walk). You can borrow a parasol and beach chairs. The area of the beach had basically no tourists, just a little beach restaurant. The town is full of very friendly people, this includes the hosts of the hotel. They were very friendly, flexible and accommodating. The food at the hotel was excellent and fairly priced. (I would also recommend Fisherman’s Cafe - especially their squid fry starter) Overall 11/10, would specifically go to Alleppey to stay here next time I’m in India.
