Everything about this place was great. The owner is so nice, so helpful, very funny and outgoing. We had lovely chats with him! Also he helped us a lot with planning our hikes and our transport. The breakfast and dinner provided were great, very healthy and fresh. The dorm room was super comfortable and cozy. The hostel is surrounded by trees and waking up there is one of the best experiences we had in Japan! Would 100% come back when visiting Japan again!

We had a lovely stay at Bells Cabin. The owner couple is really sweet and caring and fetched us from the train station as we were stranded in a mile long taxi queue due to snow and ice disabling the trains and busses no longer running in the late evening. Thank you so much! The breakfast was delicious and a very fair price. The common room were you can hang out and eat had a lit fireplace giving a very warm and cozy atmosphere. It smelled like Christmas morning as a child. We will definitely comeback when we are visiting Karuizawa.

Homely cozy setting in a very quiet wooded area at Naka-Karuizawa. I booked a bed in a 4 bed dorm but ended up having the whole room to myself. Host is friendly.

A budgeted, warm and welcoming stay. Recommended, especially for backpacker. The host is very friendly and fluent in English. Feel grateful for his hardworking to keep the place chill, comfy and clean. I like the dining and resting area very much. The lighting, furnitures, decorations, music and books are perfect. You can enjoy a quiet time in the nature. The temperature and ventilation in the resting area is amazing in the hot summer in Aug. It felt like AC but it was actually breeze from the windows.

My stay here was amazing. The dorm and bathroom are clean, there is a nice and spacious common room to eat and talk with other travellers, and the hostel is quiet. The owners are so friendly! If you need any help, or have any question they will be happy to help you. Plus, they can speak good English! Also, they serve very good breakfast, I totally recommend the cinnamons rolls with raisin, they are delicious!
