With a hostel like feel, the Ninja house is perfect for young travelers, or a group of young travelers. It is well situated within Takayama, being fairly central to everything. The walk from the station is simple enough, but can be a distance if you aren't used to it. The host was great, spoke very reasonable english, and was able to guide me through things to see, do, and eat. The room I got was great, slightly larger than what I expected. You are in a traditional house, so make sure you are up for sleeping on a futon. The ninja house is situated on a quiet side street, so noise isn't an issue. Clean, orderly, and tidy as with most places in Japan.

It’s a single apartment not far from Morning markets. Fab location. Super comfy bed! It’s two levels so if you can’t do stairs, it’s not a good option as bathroom is downstairs. Loved the poem and artwork on walls. Very beautiful And thoughtful ❤️

Lovely decorated, traditional style stay. We had a huge room for 2 adults and enough space for our baby to play on the tatami mats. Walking distance to everything (takayama is rather small after all).

Just a 5-minute walk from JR Takayama Train Station, Minshuku Kuwataniya offers cosy Western- and Japanese-style rooms with a flat-screen TV.
