The hosts are really nice and super helpful. It was my first accommodation in Sri Lanka, and it was the best start I could get: The host picked me up from the airport, helped me to get cash and a SIM card and explained a lot about the country and Beruwala with a lot of tips of what to do. The room was nice and clean and the house is right at the beach, with a big balcony facing the sea. I got amazing Sri Lankan breakfast every morning on the balcony and the hosts checked in with me regularly to make sure I have a smooth stay and to recommend things to do and places to visit. I can highly recommend the stay and would book again if I return to Beruwala.

Our stay at The Beach Gate Villa was truly unforgettable. Sarath is the kindest host we met on our journey, and he made us feel like part of his own family. The breakfasts were simply the best of our entire trip, and the rooms were the cleanest and most well-equipped we had in Sri Lanka. We especially appreciated the large, comfortable beds, as not all double beds on the island are spacious enough for two. The villa itself has a beautiful terrace and garden, where we enjoyed watching birds and squirrels, and the peaceful location is just a few minutes’ walk from a quiet, empty beach. There are also plenty of activities nearby, such as a river safari in Bentota, an Indian restaurant, and a Buddhist shrine. We loved it so much that we extended our stay to four nights and were genuinely sad to leave.

Isabel was a lovely host, incredibly friendly and did everything to make her guests welcome. Breakfast was a mix of local and international food. The amenities are amazing and super clean and tidy. The whole place is super quiet and perfect for a calm stay far away from the city bust.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the sea-view villa and dining at the beach restaurant, and it was truly a remarkable experience. The room was just good; it was exceptional. Immaculately clean, spacious, and beautifully designed. The view from the room was breathtaking, with the beach right in front of us. Waking up to the sound of the waves and the sight of the endless sea was a dream come true. The beach restaurant didn't disappoint either. The food was not only delicious but also served with a touch of elegance. Every bite was a burst of flavor, and the freshness of the ingredients was evident. Breakfast and dinners were fantastic 🥳 Can highly recommend both the devilled fish and fish curry. The design of the bedroom, bathroom and balcony was really tasteful and very well done as bungalow style. The fantastic garden making you feel in a different world was a treat. Not to mention the beach which was less than 500 meter away 🌊. A perfect beach if you like a bit of space, and not overcrowded by tourists and hotels and restaurants sitting on the beach front. The staff were really attentive and nice and Mr Nelson’s helpfulness and care made my stay fantastic. Last thing, I want to emphasize was the cleanliness of the garden and especially my bungalow. Having travelled in Sri Lanka for 3 weeks, living at more than 12 different hotels, La Perla stood out on all parameters.
