The view from the balcony is absolutely amazing. It’s quiet and a great place to calm down and relax. The room was very clean and we had no problems with Moskitos or other animals. The staff and the owner were very friendly and helpful. They can organize a scooter for rent or a tuktuk (taxi) if needed. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Eagle View Villa.

A very comfy stay! Nice room that has my own entrance. Host and family made me feel so welcome. Highly recommended if you are passing through Wellawaya, which I highly recommend too.The area is beautiful and the Buduruwagala statue/carvings are gorgeous, one of the highlights of my trip.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was lovely, the place was friendly and we had a great time. Great communication between Sam’s place and us before we travelled ensuring all our needs were met when we arrived. They were very helpful and provided us with information and recommendations for things to do in the area. I would recommend and we will be booking again soon. Thank you Sam!

We, my girlfriend and I, have experienced our stay as a wonderful journey. When we arrived, we were faced with a closed gate, but within seconds the owner arrived. After checking in, we entered the room – perfect! A nice big bed, a clean and spacious bathroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and everything you could need! After having a little chat, the hotel owner asked about our plans. We mentioned that we came for the nature and tranquility, and without hesitation, he offered to show us around the area. This was the start of an experience we will never forget. 🙏 First, we went to a small waterfall, very local with no tourists – just some local youngsters hanging out who even offered us a beer. Then he took us to Diyaluma Falls – what a massive waterfall that was! He offered us lunch, which he had made himself! A sandwich we’ll never forget; it was incredibly delicious. Next, we visited Buduruwagala Rock Carvings, where the owner introduced us to Buddhism. The place was surrounded by nature – trees, plants, birds – pure enjoyment. We thought we were heading back to the hotel, but nothing could be further from the truth. We visited real monks, where we received blessings and a white bracelet from an elderly monk. They also offered us boiled corn – so tasty! After the visit, we continued back to the hotel. On the way, we ran into a friend of the owner, who invited us to their home. When we arrived, the whole family was there to meet us. What kind and friendly people! They offered us tea and chocolate biscuits, and my girlfriend even received a gift! It gave us such a happy feeling, something we will cherish forever. ❤️ Then it was time to head back to the hotel – or so we thought. Instead, we went elephant spotting! Yes, you read that right – real wild elephants! It got quite late, but we spotted several wild animals, including both a male and female elephant. This, too, will stay with us forever.

Unforgettable stay with Micheal – a true taste of Sri Lanka Staying with Micheal was much more than just accommodation — it was an experience. A retired military man with a kind heart, Micheal welcomed us with incredible warmth and generosity. He introduced us to the authentic flavors of Sri Lankan cuisine, even showing us how to prepare traditional dishes in his own kitchen. The highlight of our stay was the guided hike to Monaragala mountain. With Micheal leading the way, we explored breathtaking landscapes and learned so much about the local culture and nature through his stories and deep knowledge of the area. His home is peaceful, well-kept, and made even more special by the presence of two lovely kittens that added a touch of charm and comfort. If you're looking for something genuine and heartfelt, this is the place. Micheal is a host like no other.

Our stay in Ella Nine Peaks was fabulous. The location is further from the road and the village, so it's very peaceful there. The road there is a little bit tricky, but we managed (even with the car for 8 people). We booked 2 rooms in the colonial styled house with a great atmosphere. The rooms are next to each other and share a spacious veranda with a huge table, sofa and chairs, so we had enough space for us. We ate either there or on a podium on a rock nearby with an amazing view. For en extra fee we could go to the pool. And one evening we sat by the fire. The rooms are comfortable, hot water was working perfectly. The staff was great, always helping us and taking a good care of us. The food was delicious.

Friendly and welcoming, good location

Serene environment, top quality service from the lovely owner, the room was immaculate with everything we needed and very picturesque. The host even provided us with tea, water and laundry service. Possibly the best place we’ve stayed in Sri Lanka, and do not be put off by the negative reviews regarding the driveway, it is easy via Tuktuk and worth it for the views and privacy. Their tuktuk shuttle is free and available 24/7 - thank you again for a wonderful stay ❤️ the best place to eat is Ella Siyapatha Hut Restaurant.
