How can I even start… all the members of this family are literal angels. They’ll take care of you, show you around, make sure you’re never hungry, and give you the best possible experience. I was so lucky to meet them at the beginning of my trip; I ended up staying way longer than planned and even spent my birthday with them and we organised a trip together some time later. At this point, they’ve become family to me. Their property is located in a beautiful and tranquil area; if you like being close to nature and want an authentic Sri Lankan experience, this is the place. The rooms are well-kept and tidy, spacious, and cosy. There’s an adorable dog and lots of visiting animals, even parrots, who feed near the property’s gate every morning. Shamaylie, with the help of her daughters, cooks home made, healthy and very tasty meals, made from the local ingredients. The family will make sure that they offer you the food you like. I recommend to visit the Guesthouse regardless if you’re travelling solo or in a couple. You will always be treated with love, warmth, and generosity. Wik xx

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the sea-view villa and dining at the beach restaurant, and it was truly a remarkable experience. The room was just good; it was exceptional. Immaculately clean, spacious, and beautifully designed. The view from the room was breathtaking, with the beach right in front of us. Waking up to the sound of the waves and the sight of the endless sea was a dream come true. The beach restaurant didn't disappoint either. The food was not only delicious but also served with a touch of elegance. Every bite was a burst of flavor, and the freshness of the ingredients was evident. Dining with the sound of the waves in the background was a sensory delight. Overall, this place is a true gem for those seeking a relaxing and memorable getaway by the sea. A beautiful place situated 2 minutes from the beach. Really well presented, extra touches to make everything appear special with flowers on the bed and on dining table. Beaches and pool towels are also provided which is very handy. We and an evening meal which was very tasty and plentiful. Yes indeed the area has more mosquitoes than perhaps others but the hotel takes many steps to alleviate the nuisance. We didn’t find the railway a bother at all. All in all a great place and happy to recommend.

Our hosts were very caring, offering us tea or coffee in the evening. If you needed a tuk tuk to take you a kilometre or two from the villa, it was free service. The breakfast was a wonderful variety and scrumptious. The room was immaculately clean and had air-con.The short cut to the beach, down an alley and across the railway lines, had us there in 5 minutes. If you get the opportunity, drop in to Tuna Turner, where you can use their pool and sunbeds if you spend 5000slr. They even supply pool towels.
