We had booked the downstairs with three bedrooms. We also had use of the shared kitchen and living room. We decided to eat in that night and cooked a great dinner. The place is well stocked.

Very modern, everything seemed brand new. Great linens, sheets and towels The shower had lots of hot water, soap and shampoo. The front door requires a code to enter, I felt secure.There are 3 sets of bunk beds in each of 2 rooms.The bed was very comfortable. The hostel was very quiet. The location is great for the Camino de Santiago....only a few blocks from the Camino, near the Ponte de Lima bridge.

The location is excellent and well situated in the heart of the Gerés Region. São Bernardo de Claravel offers very clean rooms, each with it's own wc/shower and comfortable beds (appreciated after a long day's hike or walk). A shared kitchenette, on the lower level, is available to guests. It has a sitting/relaxing area, a microwave, a kettle, crockery, cutlery and a Delta Coffee machine (espressos, cappuccinos, etc at a fair price). Visitors can enjoy the beauty of the region by visiting the rural villages,the stunning waterfalls, forests, hike, picnic, mediate at São Bento da Porta Aberta, enjoy massages at the São Bento Hotel and finish the day with sundowners on the Orange Tree courtyard which overlooks the Caniçada Dam. A highly recommended holiday, especially for city dwellers who want to enjoy and be close to nature.
