This beautiful small hotel is a jewel. The location is wonderful and the property is a mini-botanical garden right next to the one that gives it it's name (dos Cantos). The staff are superb; cheerful and accommodating, knowledgeable and helpful. Fabio and Miriam assisted us in many ways with suggestions for outings, making reservations, helping plan routes and answering any questions we might have. There was staff on-hand 24 hours per day. Both the rooms and the public spaces show off the lovely features of the hotel. We wouldn't have any hesitation in recommending the Solar Dos Cantos to travellers to Ponta Delgada.

I usually don’t write reviews but I can’t resist this time. This place went way beyond our expectations. This house is darling! The house itself is both historic and fascinating - an oasis in the city centre. The rooms are comfy and modern. The breakfast was very good. And the hostess went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Would definitely recommend!

Philip and staff were very accommodating, especially with favours in regards to my 7 month old baby. The pineapple from the property was the best tasting pineapple I have ever tried - so sweet! We had a large van and they had a large parking space. The hotel's location was excellent - close to the highway so it was easy to get to attractions. We also took many lovely walks along the shore which was amazing. Philip was also very helpful, answering questions and providing recommendations!

This place is trui magical as if you are visiting your favorite rich uncle. From the welcome of our host to the majestic entrance and the interior and the suite we stayed in. Also the small touches like the liquor displays we could try the coffee counter and the display of different antiquities and vintage items.

Great central location, we had quiet, comfortable room on the top floor, use of a communal kitchen & lounge was a bonus, quick friendly communication with the hotel. We would stay here again.
