Filtered drinking water (hot and cold), tea and snacks were always available. The system to request your room clean (or not be cleaned) was excellent (you leave your key at reception when you go out if you want the room cleaned, otherwise they leave it). The room was clean and comfortable with lots of natural light. There was lots of TV channels to choose from including multiple English language channels. The view from the room was excellent (we requested a balcony room). The staff were friendly and made a real effort to communicate, even though their English (and our Chinese) was not very fluent.

My recent stay at Luna's House Homestay in Kaohsiung was truly delightful. From the moment we arrived, Madam Xu, the gracious proprietress, made us feel like family.The homestay exudes a cozy charm, with comfortable rooms and all the amenities one could need for a relaxing stay. What truly set this place apart, however, was the warmth and hospitality of Madam Xu. She went above and beyond to ensure that we felt welcome and at home throughout our stay. One of the highlights of our visit was Madam Xu's kind gesture of personally driving us to the HSR station on the day of our departure. This unexpected act of kindness truly touched our hearts and made our experience at Luna's House even more memorable. Madam Xu's genuine care for her guests is evident in every detail, from the adequate pantry she has for guests, to the thoughtful advice she offered about exploring Kaohsiung. Her dedication to providing exceptional service is commendable and sets Luna's House apart as a top-notch homestay option in the area. Without a doubt, I will be returning to Luna's House Homestay on my next visit to Kaohsiung. This hostel looks very new. It is clean, quiet and secure, with a comfy lounge downstairs. Free coffee and a few snacks. You need to leave your shoes downstairs in the designated box. The large shared bathroom is very clean, and mixed for men and women. The beds in the dorm are large, with hooks and powerpoints. There are designated lockers, and you need to bring your own padlock. The location is walking distance from the main bus station and about 20min walk from the wharf to take the boat to little Liuqiu island. The night market on Saturdays is at the doorstep.

- The room was clean and very large, with a comfortable bed. I was at the third floor and I really like the big window (kind of insdustrial/loft style) - location is okay (if you are planning to visit Little Liu Chiu Island, a one nearer to the port might be better, otherwise the bus connects well from here)

The host was very nice, helpful and considerate. We were with a big group and wanted to move some of the benches which was not a problem at all. The trash was picked up regularly and the place was kept very tidy and neat.

Drinking water and coffee, and even sample packs of snacks provided free. Miss Jidan is friendly and warm, super helpful and helped us book a scooter (and helped us return the scooter as well) and water activities at short notice and at good rates. The TV had English & Chinese movies. The hostel has plenty of food options and a convenience store just steps away. It is just a short walk, after alighting from the ferry.
