Went to Austria for MotoGP, turns out this hotel accommodates for bikers 🎉 staff were amazing and speak pretty good English, food was brilliant, the view from everywhere in the hotel was lovely. The best value for money I found travelling Europe! Would 100% stay again if I was in the area.

Gasthof-Pension Ortner is located in Stadl in Styria’s Mur Valley, right on the Murradweg (cycling trail) and 10 km from the Kreischberg Ski Area. I had read some mixed reviews before booking, and while I chose it for its excellent location, I approached it with some reservations. The retro design of the place is indeed notable. I found myself pondering whether keeping the original hardwood furniture and bathroom tiles from the 80s could be seen as a form of sustainability. One highlight was the breakfast, which featured delicious fresh bakery items and perfectly boiled eggs—definitely a treat! Unfortunately, I had a mishap on the first day and broke my arm. After returning from the hospital in the evening, I was exhausted and hungry. I appreciated that my Wiener schnitzel was cut by the waiter immediately after it was served, and when I expressed a desire for something sweet, the staff kindly made Kaiserschmarnie for me, which was a lovely gesture.
