Jolanta and Friederich are lovely hosts, eager to help and provide advice. The unit is great: spotless, beautiful, comfortable and worth every penny. The house is located at a beautiful vantage point, overlooking the entrance to Ötztal and very close to the valley's main attractions (the town of Ötz, Umhausen, Stuibenfall, Niederthai, and Piburgersee) - a perfect location. In hindsight, our stay was too short. This is a great place to stay while visiting this part of Austria. Warmly and highly recommended.

We used the Gasthof Schontal as a base for travelling to and from Kitzbuhel for a days skiing and the Hahnenkahm races. A half hour drive takes you to Kirchberg in Tyrol where there is free parking and a free shuttle train which takes you into Kitzbuhel itself. Perfect

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely family run Gasthof. The staff was super. The room was large with a very comfortable bed and great seating area. The shower area was modern. Everything was very clean. It is conveniently located in the center of town. Breakfast was good too.

Wow, what an amazing stay! It was so good I extended my stay twice! I received such a warm welcome from the owners it was really a great start. The room was a whole apartment and had everything I could need. In addition, it had a winter garden and a summer garden. Both were comfortable, beautiful and so fantastic for the mix of weather we had while I was there. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of options. I took my dog with me and upon entering the room there was a welcome bed and two dog bowls for my pet. It felt so good that he was as welcome as I was! I really had an amazing stay, and would recommend it to anyone going to this area. I plan to go back!

We stayed for one night and the experience was beyond expectations. The place is very tidy, with new and spotless rooms and an excellent breakfast. Martin, the host, was extremely patient and helpful with every question and request. On our last day, when he noticed we were in a hurry to catch the bus, he kindly drove us to the city center. It really made our day! We were very satisfied and highly recommend staying here!
