Martina was an excellent host! The breakfast was incredible, checkin was smooth and we had no issues with sharing a bathroom. There is a beautiful backyard to eat in. We came from a really long cycle ride and Martina went out of her way to pick up our pizza order as the restaurant across the road was on vacation. Perfectly matches the description

Casa Esperanza is located a 5-minute tram ride from the centre of Basel and offers free WiFi and a shared terrace with seating area. The rooms all come with a flat-screen TV. Overall, a great experience. I was met by Kai, who took me to my room, and explained everything, including with a lever-arch file of notes. He checked that I had everything I needed, and then left. I didn't need to contact him, but I had all his contact details in case I did. It's a large enough room with beds, a table and a well-enough equipped kitchen, and a fan in case it gets a bit hot. There is enough hanging space in the cupboard. The bathroom is shared with another room (I knew that at the time of booking), and that might not suit everybody, but it was perfectly fine with me. The location is great: about 2-3 blocks from a tram intersection for the Number 1 tram that goes to the main station and to the Messe Convention centre. Other trams are also there, but I did not use them. There are also two largish grocery stores in the vicinity of the tram station.

The property is in a great location, easy access to old town. We were on top floor in room described as family room. The room actually has 2 rooms within it, so one massive bedroom/ living room area with fridge and coffee maker, and the second being a separate single room. Beautiful bathroom as well. Very peaceful, exceptionally clean, spacious and lovely decor.

The Ambrosia Guesthouse completely exceeded my expectations! Check-in with co-owner Anthony was quick and friendly, with great tips for visiting the beautiful medieval town of Rheinfelden. The room is attractively decorated with many little unexpected extras, such as bedside charging stations with multiple ports and high quality toiletries (soap, lotion, shampoo and conditioner). The room was clean and comfortable, with blinds and dark curtains for a good sleep. The location is excellent, being only 5 minutes walk from the train station and 10 minutes walk to the old town. The neighbourhood is quiet, clean and safe. In the morning we enjoyed a lovely fresh breakfast, much of which is homemade by the charming Nathalie and Anthony. The breakfast area is bright and charming, with many lovely little treats and unlimited coffee! We will definitely return again next year when visiting Art Basel, which is easily reached by train and tram from this location.
