The hotel and owners were lovely and very welcoming. It is in a quiet village where you can enjoy the countryside and stay away from the very touristy parts nearby, but can still go see them very easily (less than 10 mins away from all the popular hikes, and you get a great view of the mountains as you drive towards them). The dinner menu is great and the breakfast is filling with lots of variety. It gave us a chance to try the different sorts of local cheese!

Beautiful property with a gorgeous spacious room. The staff was very friendly (even with a little language barrier); they were super helpful and kind.

Located next to the car-free centre of Appenzell, Adler Hotel is set in a beautiful traditional Appenzell-style building. Everything was perfect, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was good, the rooms were clean, we even had a separate door to the room to make it soundproof. Our room was next to the breakfast area, so it gets noisy in the mornings, but we couldn't hear a thing with the extra door closed. The whole experience was great!
